This webinar presented the current status, challenges and trends of e-commerce as well as technical solutions, case studies, information systems and best practices for organizing the e-commerce supply chain.

We are proud to share the publication of SARMED’s first Sustainability Report. Sustainability is a cornerstone of our business strategy aligning with the company’s vision, mission and values. Additionally, we have integrated ESG principles into our core operations.
SARMED is committed to support sustainability throughout its entire value chain and proves this by implementing new investments, intensifying its efforts to achieve a carbon neutral footprint, measuring key indicators for occupational health and safety, and continuing to actively take care of employees, partners, the environment and local communities.
The Sustainability Report is aligned with the GRI standard, highlights all aspects of SARMED’s business in 2023 and showcases the company’s progress and main achievements. The GRI principles are applied in defining the content, relating to the completeness of the data, the materiality assessment, the response to the needs of stakeholders and the overall framework of SARMED’s approach to sustainable development. Additionally, the Report considers the guidelines of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SARMED is a pioneer in the 3PL industry in sustainability as well leading the way for the provision of high-quality logistics services in a responsible manner.

Mr. Dimitris Theodorou, Quality & Sustainability Director of SARMED, participated in the Advanced Telecoms & IoT Summit 2024 held at Zappeio Megaron on Tuesday, October 8th. The results of the use of the IoT system for monitoring the environmental conditions of SARMED’s storage facilities were presented, in collaboration with VODAFONE.

Mr. Yiannis Sarantitis, Chairman & CEO of SARMED participated as a speaker in a panel at the 7th Infrastructure and Transport Conference held on 16th – 18th September, on the topic of Supply Chain and Logistics.
Among other things, Mr. Sarantitis referred to the position of Greece in freight transport & logistics, the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the evolution and investment plans of SARMED.

Dr. Dimitris Theodorou, Quality & Sustainability Director of SARMED participated in the webinar entitled “Green logistics: Unlocking the prospects for sustainable operation and corporate development”, powered by OPTILOG Advisory Services, on Tuesday 18/06/2024.
Mr. Theodorou referred, among other things, to the way in which SARMED has integrated sustainability into its daily operations, with reference to the environmental and energy programs implemented, as well as to the benefits that SARMED has obtained from its relevant certifications.

SARMED is thrilled to announce the completion of its high-tech gangway structure, established in its state-of-the-art warehouses in Aspropyrgos Attica for the provision of e-commerce logistics services.
Optimization requires intelligent solutions. Our new gangway system enables maximum space utilization of the 9,000m² warehouse dedicated to the provision of eCommerce logistics services, as well as increased picking efficiency and capacity optimization. Companies from various industries, such as Fashion, e-Pharmacies, Cosmetics, Technology and Retail benefit from micro-picking precision. The picking process offers improved productivity by 25%, and fourfold increased capacity.
The project was designed and developed by STAMH Group, an international company, providing warehouse automation and storage technologies in more than 22 countries around the globe. Today, STAMH is the automation leader in Southeast and Central Europe.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5th, serves as a global platform to raise awareness and take action on pressing environmental issues. As we face unprecedented environmental challenges, including climate change, pollution, and habitat destruction, World Environment Day calls for collective efforts to build a more sustainable and resilient future.
At SARMED we believe that caring for our planet and striving for a more sustainable future should be top priorities and we are committed to providing environmentally friendly services while continuously reducing our ecological footprint. As part of the implementation of a sustainable business model, successful audits were performed by the accredited certification body TUV AUSTRIA, for the verification of greenhouse gas emissions (carbon footprint) according to the international standard ISO 14064-1, as well as for the renewal for an additional three years of the Environmental Management and Energy Management Systems certifications according to the international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, respectively.

SARMED proudly announces its new collaboration with Hawkers for the provision of e-Commerce logistics services.
Founded online in 2013, Hawkers is a Spanish company that has pioneered a paradigm shift in the sector ever since its launch, thanks to a ground-breaking online marketing model and a complete value proposition for its consumers. Energy Saving – Carbon footprint reduction
SARMED continues to upgrade its facilities according to specifications that are aligned with modern energy saving practices and carbon footprint reduction and is pleased to announce the completion of a photovoltaic power station at its warehouse complex in Sindos, Thessaloniki.
The photovoltaic power station, with annual production of approximately 0,9 MWh and total system capacity of 600 kW, will operate as an independent electricity generation unit and will feed the generated energy into the internal electrical installation, thereby reducing the demand from the Public Electricity Distribution Network.
We warmly thank CONSAR, owner of the warehouse complex, for its financial contribution to the implementation of the investment.

The company Evoiki Zimi SA was founded in 1984 in Psachna Evia as “Zimarika Psahnon”. The company constantly invests in modern technical equipment and fleet of trucks, in the proper training of human resources and in maintaining high quality and unique homemade taste of its products. Evoiki Zimi is steadily growing, focusing on quality, tradition and innovation. Its aim is to create value for the society, for the economy, for employees and for the company.

- ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety
- Ministerial Decision 1348/04 for Good Storage and Distribution Practices for Medical Devices

March 2024 | SARMED’s participation at SEV conference "The Impact of the Red Sea Crisis"
On Monday, February 26th, 2024, Mr. Dimitris Karagiannis, Chief Commercial & Operating Officer of SARMED, participated in a conference organized by SEV, supported by the Regional Industrial Associations SVAP, SBTSE, SVETH SEVPDE and SVSE, concerning the Red Sea Crisis and its impact both on the global supply chain and the international trade.
Mr. Karagiannis discussed the impacts of the Red Sea crisis and underlined the expected mass arrival of containers which will further complicate the provision of services and lead to the increase of required capacity and resources and therefore to higher costs. He also mentioned the fluctuations in the inventory levels and how they affect 3PL companies’ operation.
Finally, Mr. Karagiannis mentioned the importance for 3PL companies to apply a new adaptive, flexible and resilient operating model to tackle the continuous challenges and emerging crises affecting the supply chain and presented the approach for its development.
February 2024 | Energy Saving - Carbon Footprint Reduction
SARMED focused on its sustainable development, designs, develops and upgrades its facilities according to specifications that are aligned with modern energy saving practices and carbon footprint reduction. In this context, SARMED has completed the construction, installation and connection of a photovoltaic power station at the “Trypio Lithari” warehouse complex in Mandra, Attica.
The photovoltaic power station, with annual production of approximately 1.4 MWh and total system capacity of 900 kWp, will operate as an independent electricity generation unit and will feed the generated energy into the internal electrical installation, thereby reducing the demand from the Public Electricity Distribution Network.
We warmly thank BriQ Properties REIC, owner of the warehouse complex, that always operates with an awareness of its environmental responsibility, for its financial contribution to the implementation of the investment.

Fotini Skapinaki, Head of e-Commerce logistics and Antonis Danopoulos, IT Director of SARMED, participated in the 13th thematic workshop “Logistics and transport for safer and more efficient supply chain management”, within the framework of the “Innovation Ready” initiative of SEV.
Among other things, Mrs. Skapinaki stated: “Advanced technological solutions in the field of logistics are an essential pillar for the development of entrepreneurship. As a 3PL company, we support initiatives that contribute to the reorganization of the supply chain and express our commitment to continuously support the adoption of innovative solutions in the industry.”
