Energy Saving – Carbon footprint reduction
SARMED continues to upgrade its facilities according to specifications that are aligned with modern energy saving practices and carbon footprint reduction and is pleased to announce the completion of a photovoltaic power station at its warehouse complex in Sindos, Thessaloniki.
The photovoltaic power station, with annual production of approximately 0,9 MWh and total system capacity of 600 kW, will operate as an independent electricity generation unit and will feed the generated energy into the internal electrical installation, thereby reducing the demand from the Public Electricity Distribution Network.
We warmly thank CONSAR, owner of the warehouse complex, for its financial contribution to the implementation of the investment.

NEW COLLABORATION
SARMED is pleased to announce its new collaboration with Evoiki Zimi for the transportation and nationwide distribution of its frozen products under cold, freezing and dry storage conditions.
The company Evoiki Zimi SA was founded in 1984 in Psachna Evia as “Zimarika Psahnon”. The company constantly invests in modern technical equipment and fleet of trucks, in the proper training of human resources and in maintaining high quality and unique homemade taste of its products. Evoiki Zimi is steadily growing, focusing on quality, tradition and innovation. Its aim is to create value for the society, for the economy, for employees and for the company.

Successful Audit of SARMED Integrated Management System
SARMED Integrated Management System was successfully audited by TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas and DQS against certain standards. More specifically, the certifications audited concerned the following standards / specifications:
- ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management
- ISO 22000:2018 for Food Safety
- ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety
- Ministerial Decision 1348/04 for Good Storage and Distribution Practices for Medical Devices
- Regulation (ΕU) 2018/848 for management of organic products

March 2024 | SARMED’s participation at SEV conference "The Impact of the Red Sea Crisis"
On Monday, February 26th, 2024, Mr. Dimitris Karagiannis, Chief Commercial & Operating Officer of SARMED, participated in a conference organized by SEV, supported by the Regional Industrial Associations SVAP, SBTSE, SVETH SEVPDE and SVSE, concerning the Red Sea Crisis and its impact both on the global supply chain and the international trade.
Mr. Karagiannis discussed the impacts of the Red Sea crisis and underlined the expected mass arrival of containers which will further complicate the provision of services and lead to the increase of required capacity and resources and therefore to higher costs. He also mentioned the fluctuations in the inventory levels and how they affect 3PL companies’ operation.
Finally, Mr. Karagiannis mentioned the importance for 3PL companies to apply a new adaptive, flexible and resilient operating model to tackle the continuous challenges and emerging crises affecting the supply chain and presented the approach for its development.

SARMED focused on its sustainable development, designs, develops and upgrades its facilities according to specifications that are aligned with modern energy saving practices and carbon footprint reduction. In this context, SARMED has completed the construction, installation and connection of a photovoltaic power station at the “Trypio Lithari” warehouse complex in Mandra, Attica.
The photovoltaic power station, with annual production of approximately 1.4 MWh and total system capacity of 900 kWp, will operate as an independent electricity generation unit and will feed the generated energy into the internal electrical installation, thereby reducing the demand from the Public Electricity Distribution Network.
We warmly thank BriQ Properties REIC, owner of the warehouse complex, that always operates with an awareness of its environmental responsibility, for its financial contribution to the implementation of the investment.
February 2024 | 13th Innovation Ready workshop
Fotini Skapinaki, Head of e-Commerce logistics and Antonis Danopoulos, IT Director of SARMED, participated in the 13th thematic workshop “Logistics and transport for safer and more efficient supply chain management”, within the framework of the “Innovation Ready” initiative of SEV.
Among other things, Mrs. Skapinaki stated: “Advanced technological solutions in the field of logistics are an essential pillar for the development of entrepreneurship. As a 3PL company, we support initiatives that contribute to the reorganization of the supply chain and express our commitment to continuously support the adoption of innovative solutions in the industry.”
