POT & PAN recently expanded its activity to provide catering services for companies and large industries, offering specialized canteen management services in combination with the provision of high nutritional value meals for staff. With the support of POT & PAN’s specialized staff (240 employees), more than 9 million portions of cooked food are offered annually to demanding customers. The company’s clients include companies and organizations such as the International Organization for Migration, Gregory’s, Coffee Island, AB Vassilopoulos, Supermarket Kritikos, My Market, the Ministry of National Defense, Prolepsis Institute, L’ Artigiano, the HOTELBRAIN group, the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica as well as many hospitals and organizations.
POT & PAN A.E. is 100% Greek company, with a successful course of 20 years in the field of production of standardized and packaged meals. December 2021 | Certification of SARMED’s Information Security and Business Continuity Management Systems
The development, implementation and certification of SARMED’s Information Security and Business Continuity Management Systems in accordance with the international standards ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 22301:2019, respectively, was completed with great success. The inclusion of the requirements of these standards in the Integrated Management System of SARMED, which already covers the requirements of several standards and regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 13485, Decision 1348, EC 834/2007, AEOF), was audited by the accredited body TÜV Austria Hellas.
The new certifications for Information Security and Business Continuity Management, arose not from an obligation for compliance, but as a natural result of SARMED’s strategic choice for:
- providing consistent quality of service, uninterrupted operation and fast recovery after emergency situations
- ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information of customers and other interested parties
The certifications according to ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 are important points of differentiation of SARMED compared not only to the companies of the same sector, but also to all the organizations in general. Specifically, according to the statistics of the International Organization for Standardization ISO, out of 12.114 active certificates of the most widespread ISO standards in Greece, the percentages of certificates corresponding to ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 are 3,7% (454 certificates) and 0,6% (77 certificates), respectively. Particularly, in the sector “Transport, Storage and Communications”, 14 ISO 27001 certificates and only 3 ISO 22301 certificates have been issued.
The continuous development and improvement of the Integrated Management System is another proof of SARMED’s commitment to operate by providing its partners with high quality services, which meet their needs and expectations.

SARMED is pleased to announce the start of its cooperation with the companies Mlekovita Hellas & AS Food Agencies for the storage of their products in the state-of-the-art facilities of SARMED in Mandra, Attica, as well as their nationwide distribution.

SARMED participated for the fourth consecutive year in the assessment of its corporate social responsibility performance by EcoVadis and received the “Gold Recognition Level” distinction.
EcoVadis is an international platform that allows companies to monitor the sustainability performance of their suppliers. Its methodology covers over 75,000 suppliers annually from 200 sectors and 150 countries. The system analyzes and evaluates the performance of the company in four main categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement.

SARMED proudly announces its collaboration with INTROFEX SA, for the storage of its products, in its state-of-the-art facilities in Mandra, Attica.
INTROFEX was established in 1975 and is an evolution of the initial food business set up by Karadimas family in 1922 in Piraeus. Today, INTROFEX is considered to be one of the biggest and most specialized food crafts in Greece after 4 generations. The main areas in which the company operates are the import of large quantities of raw material in bulk form for products such as cereals, chocolate, dried fruits, nuts, cocoa powder, instant chocolate drinks, instant mashed potato powder and coffee filters from the most specialized manufacturers in Europe as well as standardization of these products in a wide range of packages according to the desires and specifications of customers. The development, implementation and certification of the Quality Management System of SARMED for Medical Devices according to the international standard ISO 13485:2016 was successfully completed.
The incorporation of the requirements of this standard in the Integrated Management System of SARMED, which already meets the requirements of a large number of standards and regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, YA 1348, EK 834/2007, AEOF), was certified by the accredited certification body TÜV Austria Hellas.
The certification scope of ISO 13485:2016 covers the repackaging of medical devices and is a proof of the commitment of SARMED for compliance with high quality standards concerning the External – Value Added Services offered to the supply chain. In addition to storage and distribution services, SARMED can offer high quality services in supporting activities, such as repackaging, document management and digitalization, etc.
Especially in the field of repackaging, SARMED having been fully equipped with printing, heat shrinking and packaging machines and employing experienced and specialized staff, has the ability for productions of high capacity and high-quality standards. The repackaging services provided include labeling, heat shrinkage, packaging of all kinds, set compositions, promotional stand and displays configurations, product sorting, printing, LOT management, etc.

Famiglia di Pasta was founded in Athens in 1992 by George Giannopoulos. Its main activity was the production of Greek traditional pastry products. Green Cola, a purely Greek company based in Orestiada, created a new category of soft drinks, by using exclusively natural ingredients in its recipes. Green Cola has consistently been at the forefront of preferences for stevia cola which is currently being distributed in more than 30 countries, including the US market, from 2019.

June 2021 | Renewal of cooperation with Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon
We are pleased to announce the renewal of our partnership with Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon in three different activities:
- The management and operation of the Distribution Center for distributions in Attica. More specifically, the project concerns receipt, storage, preparation of orders, loading and unloading of distribution vehicles, stock control, as well as management of returns and warranty items.
- The storage of the Monster product (energy drink) in our facilities in Thebes. The project concerns the receipt, storage, preparation and loading of orders for delivery.

SARMED held the 1st Voluntary Blood Donation for 2021 on May 27th, in order to support our fellowmen in need of blood. In particular, the certification according to ISO 50001 for Energy Management is an important point of SARMED’s differentiation. Specifically, according to the statistics of the International Organization for Standardization ISO, out of 12,347 active certificates of the most widespread ISO standards in Greece, only 1% (121 certificates) corresponds to ISO 50001 certifications, while especially in the sector “Transport, Storage and Communications” only 9 certificates have been issued, mainly for the communications industry.
It is worth noting that SARMED is expected to acquire a certification according to ISO 13485 for the repackaging of medical devices in July, as well as ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 for information security and business continuity, respectively, in autumn.

May 2021 | Environmental protection and energy saving in the daily life of SARMED
SARMED has set the following goals, acknowledging the responsibility we all have in protecting the environment and saving energy resources:
- to reduce the environmental impact of the company’s activities and prevent pollution incidents, as well as
- monitor and continuously improve its energy performance.
For this purpose, good practices for the protection of the environment and energy saving are systematically communicated to all employees and relevant actions are implemented in which they are invited to participate. Also, the carbon footprint of the company’s activities is monitored and calculated based on certified methods and actions are taken to reduce it.
The action “We share thoughts, we communicate ideas, we evaluate, we act” implemented by SARMED this time was dedicated to issues of environment and energy saving. This is an action that aims at strengthening internal communication and employee participation in the continuous improvement of the working environment. Employees express their opinion through specially designed thematic questionnaires.
In the answers gathered, the majority of the participants (95%) emphasized that it is important for the company to carry out recycling and energy saving actions. The employees are informed about the recycling and energy saving actions implemented by the Company, they are consciously aware and participate very actively in the relevant actions of SARMED which are now part of their daily life.
It is noted that the company is in the final stage of obtaining certification according to the international standards ISO 50001:2018 (Energy Management System) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System).

SARMED as one of the leading 3PL companies in Greece strengthens online conferences organized by official bodies of the industry by presenting its own good practices.
In the Webinar “Cost, Efficiency and Risk Management in the Supply Circuit: How is Balance Achieved?”, organized by Optilog Advisory Services, on Tuesday, March 23rd, Mr. George Fardis, Commercial Director of SARMED, presented one of the most successful case studies of the company regarding the effective planning for the management of a large storage and distribution project by a 3PL company. The participants showed particular interest in the contribution of SARMED’s project on its client’s results.
In the Webinar “Real Estate in Northern Greece”, organized by ProdExpo North, on Wednesday, April 14th, Mr. Dimitris Karagiannis, COO of SARMED, participated in a discussion regarding the process of residential and commercial, storage and logistics real estate. March 2021 | Successful Audit of SARMED Logistics Integrated Management System & Verification of its prevention practices against COVID-19
The annual audit process of SARMED LOGISTICS Integrated Management System by TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas and DQS was successfully completed. More specifically, the certifications audited concerned the following standards / specifications:

- ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety
- Ministerial Decision 1348/04 for Good Storage and Distribution Practices for Medical Devices

As part of the audit of the Integrated Management System, the measures and mechanisms that have been established and are being implemented within the company for the prevention of spread of COVID-19 coronavirus disease have been verified. It should be noted that the requirements of the international standard ISO / PAS 45005: 2020, Occupational health and safety management – General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic were taken into account for the design of preventive measures and compliance with the health protocols.
